Hello Readers,
Throughout Wisconsin there are many haunted roads. Some of the more famous and well known ones include: E. Oakwood Rd., Fitzsimmons Rd., and Weary Rd.. Both Oakwood and Fitzsimmons roads are located in Oak Creek, near Bender Park (also haunted).
Weary Road, located in Evansville, WI, is known to be one of the most haunted places in the whole state of Wisconsin. There are many stories about this stretch of road. Many involve people drowning in the river. It is not known whether or not these stories are all true, or all stem from the same story, or if ANY of them are true. One of the drowning stories is that a kid was car surfing along this road, and flew off of the car, over the bridge and into the river. Another story is that a person was canoeing and drowned.
One of the more "folklore" stories is of Old Man Weary. Old Man Weary liked to entertain children at his house. This odd hobby led to the idea of him being a pedophile. This idea was then perpetuated by the parents and townspeople. They went to his house one day and set it on fire. The house burned to the ground, but the only problem was is that there were some children in the house, all killed along with Old Man Weary. It is said that if you go there three (3) times, that the third time you will see phantom cars, a phantom motorcycle, Old Man Weary himself, and you can hear the cries of the children.
Now, Oakwood and Fitzsimmons roads are both supposedly haunted. The story behind these are that they were used as drag strips between the 1930s-50s. Both of these roads ended right on the cliffs that led into Lake Michigan, 200 feet below. The racers would be going so fast, by the time they "won" it would be too late, and they would plummet to their death 200 feet below in Lake Michigan. The racers that raced here often said, "The only way to win, is to drive off the cliff, and die!"
We did have the opportunity to investigate Oakwood Rd. somewhat, but not enough to make any conclusions. After further research and analysis, we will post our findings on here.
Thank You,

The Site Of The "Bad Axe Massacre"
The real haunted site was actually the site of the "Bad Axe Massacre". This was a battle that took place in the Black Hawk War. This particular battle was called a massacre because an estimated 150 Sauk and Fox people were killed trying to escape across the river. Many of these people included women and children, the soldiers gunned down everyone, and the ones they didn't shoot, drowned trying to cross the river.
With this many lost innocent souls, you can expect that there would be some unsettled spirits in this area. As I said, I did not get to see the spot, or any actual "spiritual activity". If anybody has been there please share your story, and if you have experienced any "spiritual activity" there PLEASE contact me or tell your story on the blog. Thank you all for reading this!
