Just this last summer I had the pleasure to stay at Wyalusing State Park. The park is absolutely beautiful and I definitely recommend that you pay this part of Wisconsin a visit. We spent a lot of time in the town of Prairie Du Chen, but traveled to Vernon County, WI. The main reason we traveled up here is because it is supposedly haunted. This part of Wisconsin is actually known to be one of the most commonly haunted places in the area. We did have some trouble finding the actual place that was "haunted" and never really did find it. We were going off of a tourist map, and it wasn't the greatest, so we did not get to see the actual place. We ended up in Genoa, WI. This is an old town, that is kind of creepy, very quiet. There we found an old Tobacco Pool, that was ALSO very creepy.
The real haunted site was actually the site of the "Bad Axe Massacre". This was a battle that took place in the Black Hawk War. This particular battle was called a massacre because an estimated 150 Sauk and Fox people were killed trying to escape across the river. Many of these people included women and children, the soldiers gunned down everyone, and the ones they didn't shoot, drowned trying to cross the river.
With this many lost innocent souls, you can expect that there would be some unsettled spirits in this area. As I said, I did not get to see the spot, or any actual "spiritual activity". My husband passed away 1 year and 8 months ago he passed away in my arms the moment they took him away the special lamp he bought me flashed I may be looked at as crazy but every day every night Everytime I sat next to it it would flash id ask yes or no questions Everytime the lamp would flash !!!! I changed outlets bulbs houses got it look at by a electrician all normal ...everyday I talk to him he blinks when I'm sad he's there and sits with me I have many recording for all houses ....still to this day when I talk to him the light flashes ...please let me know if I'm nuts but be gentle pls there's been other things that have happened heard his voice say my name,door slamming things moved caves letters on my table nothing satanic looked up seen I think it was his energy or spirit white and gold dots swearing several times I have a few spiritual books I ask him to talk to me tell me something and I randomly open the books and every time it just what I need to hear...as well as tarot cards Ive had he's sent me white feathers I put 2 pennies up by a table where I have his pictures and the light things of his I walked to the bathroom and there it was 3 fricken pennies ..I've asked him questions with pendulums always in my favor..I truly believe it's been him and still is him some say I need to let him go ...let him go I dnt understand that forget him or they think im holding him here for him moving on ??? I've asked what I believe his spirit and it says I'm not holding him here ..there's so many different beliefs about what happens when u die I'm so confused I just dnt want him to reincarnate and forget me and not be here with me at times
